Our Fees

Initial Assessmet

Our fee structure is clear and simple. An initial assessment fee is $220. (This can be rebated from Medicare). You are required to bring a referral from your GP or Optometrist on the day of your assessment.

LASIK / Laser Eye Surgery Cost

Traditional LASIK / Laser Eye Surgery cost starts from $1,550 per eye. With having performed over 18,000 LASIK procedures and over 20 years experience the benefits of choosing the Australian Institute of Eye Surgery are clear to see.

WAVEFRONT / Laser Eye Surgery

Wavefront Lasik costs $1,950 per eye. The overall advantage of this wavefront system is a greater chance of achieving 20/20 vision or better than 20/20 vision. A Wavefront scan accurately measures higher order aberrations. This results in extremely precise and individualized vision correction outcomes which would be impossible to achieve with traditional LASIK. Wavefront technology uses 3-dimensional measurements of how your eye processes images. This information is then transferred to the laser. The laser then reshapes the cornea to your unique visual requirements. It has the potential to improve not only how much you can see, visual acuity measured by the standard 20/20 eye chart, but also how well you can see in terms of contrast sensitivity and fine detail.

*Please note 12 month Interest Free Payment Plans are offered to approved applicants. Conditions apply, fees and charges are payable. Interest is payable after any interest free period. 20% Tax Rebate on Laser Vision Correction Procedures

In Australia, a tax rebate is available to any taxpayer whose net medical cost ( expenses for themselves or their dependants ) in the year of income exceed $1,500. The amount of rebate is currently 20% of the excess over $1,500. Your accountant can advise you with further information on this.

No Gap Cataract Surgery

If you contribute annually to a Private Health Fund and have top cover without any excess, your health fund and you expect that these premiums will cover the costs of undergoing cataract and implant surgery. You reasonably assume that there will be no additional fees to pay either to the surgeon, anaesthetist or day surgery for your cataract and implant procedure.

The surgeons at the Australian Institute of Eye Surgery also think this should be so. That is why we have a 'NO GAP' policy for your cataract and implant procedure.

Once you have attended an in-depth consultation with one of our surgeons and all the necessary pre-operative tests have been undertaken there will be no additional fees for you to pay either the surgeon, anaesthetist or Day Surgery. Your Private Health Fund, if you are in top cover and have no excess, will cover you completely. This makes sense to us and to you.

The Australian Institute of Eye Surgery offers affordable laser eye surgery (LASIK) and cataract surgery making the laser eye surgery cost accessible for all. For vision correction surgery or laser eye surgery Sydney and Newcastle, contact us for an assessment today.
