Dr Naveed Shaukat

Dr. Shaukat graduated in Medicine in 1984. Following his medical degree he undertook post-graduate diploma courses in Respiratory Medicine and Tropical Medicine between 1987 and 1989 and then became certified in Applied Epidemiology in 1992 and was awarded a Fellowship by the World Health Organisation.

In 1996 he obtained a Master of Public Health from the prestigious Emory University in Atlanta USA. As a result of his post-graduate training he has a special interest and expertise in clinical research and health education.

He is a member of the American Public Health Association and the Public Health Association of Australia.

Between 1996 and 2000 Dr. Shaukat was a senior research officer at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and St. Vincents Public Hospital.

Dr. Shaukat has organized over twenty national training workshops in various Public Health Areas as well as three international workshops for the World Health Organisation.

He has published widely in major Peer Review Journals in his chosen area.

Dr. Shaukat joined the Australian Institute of Eye Surgery in 2001 and supervises the outcomes analysis and quality control procedures in all laser and surgery performed at the institute.
