LASER EYE TRACKER

At the Australian Institute of Eye Surgery, our patients undergoing Laser Vision Correction can feel secure and confident, due to the installation of our new laser eye tracker. This unique Infra-red based active eye tracker is an optimized eye tracking system.

It detects changes in the position of the eye and is capable of following and compensating for these eye movements, in an appropriate time scale, so that the laser positions the next laser pulse at the desired location. The result is that the predictability of your laser treatment is improved tremendously.
This creates a procedure which is safer for the patient and provides the surgeon with more precise control of the treatment.

What is important to understand are the following 2 points:

1.The overall reaction time of this eye tracking system, to detect and compensate for eye movements, is well within the required time for the laser to fire the next laser pulse.

2.Approved by the influential United States Food and Drug Administration, this laser has produced the most accurate results ever presented to the U.S.FDA. It remains the benchmark against which other lasers are compared.
